This is the best burger joint in the entire state of Colorado. I remember my Dad taking me here when I was a kid, and the food has always been great!!! If you're feeling adventurous, try the Jiffy Burger which is served with peanut butter on it . Also, this isn't on the menu anymore, but ask them to put jalapenos and cheese on your curly fries. Crazy good...

This place wasn't bad but it also wasn't great for my first experience. Came here on the tip of a well connected local and it's a fun experience to have! The place has been around forever apparently. The bartenders are friendly. I'm eating this 3 stars because I'm a foodie. The food is order at the counter and it took a while to come, and then it was kinda mediocre when it did come. I shared the bbq platter with a buddy. It had brisket, pulled pork, riblets (rib tips?), beans, coleslaw and some sausages and except for the beans and the coleslaw it was pretty mediocre. But I did especially like those beans. I wish they wouldn't drench the meat in bbq sauce but let you put it on yourself. And wish they had more options. All in all I'd like to go back and try different things like the jif burger.

3 stars doesn't mean bad, just average. The food was good but nothing special. I probably feel more let down because our AirBNB host told us it was one of the best places in Ft. Collins & we didn't find that to be true in our experience. My BBQ bacon burger was good, it was actually cooked medium like I asked for. The seasoned curly fries are really good--no ketchup required. My husband found the BBQ platter to be fairly mediocre. It was a massive amount of food, he shared it with another guy & got full. One nice thing is you order at the counter so you don't have to tip. Very interesting place, filled with strange crazy antique decor.

We came here on a Saturday afternoon, and it was quite empty, but we had a wonderful time. I had never been here before, but what an interesting place! I love the giant stained glass window of George Washington. The artifacts in this place are so much fun. I could look around in there for hours. I understand this is a pretty crazy college bar, but school was out, and no sign of the youngins. We really enjoyed our burger. They call out your name when it is ready. Kind of funny since not many in there. The servers at the bar were great. We will go back, but probably not at night when CSU students are back packing the place to capacity. I hear it is like standing room only. If only to be young and back in college again.

Went in to check it out on a cold day...to my surprise was really a super cool place. .The food was priced good..The atmosphere was pretty sweet and the service was excellent! !! Great selection of beer as well!

Good drink specials and friendly service, but hit or miss on the food. They will make any burgers veggie though.

Cheap beer, but god the food is terrible. Fish n chips was 3 fish sticks that probably were frozen for over a month, and the "chips" wee burned. The decor looks like a hoarder moved the stuff from their house to this place.

Giant dive bar, yes please! I recently revisited this crazy big monster of a bar on a Saturday night and had a blast! Yes, there are skanks and shady thugs. But, there are all types here - freaky folks included. Loved this bar when I was 21, still had a blast 10 years later! The drink specials can't be beat & the crazy decor, music, multiple bars, large patio and giant bathrooms are tops. They also have multiple games and TVs to watch. I never tried the food, too busy gettin my drink on. Be careful descending the stairs, I have seen many a fool go down in a bad way. We went there first on a bar hop last weekend, then hit up a couple much more crowded spots & were going to go to even more places but they all had stupid lines & since we got the drink deal (all you can for 8$) and still had our bracelets on we returned for free drinks! So awesome, our cab dropped us off and picked us up there - it was the perfect bookend to a rad ass night!

Ordered a burger and mild chicken wings to split between my spouse and I. The burger was dry and pretty much tasteless. We ordered the mildest teriyaki sauce, but received hot. Plus the wings were we thought was the low-end junky wings with the wing tip attached and little meat. The best thing about th visit was watching the football game. Otherwise, I would avoid

BEST BURGERS IN TOWN!! Everyone is always super nice, food is cooked to order in an open kitchen and my food always comes out perfect. Don't let the bar aspect confuse you, I don't drink and I still come for the fabulous burgers!

This is one of my favorite bars in Fort Collins. Be warned, this is a dive bar, and that is also why it is great. There is a ton of seating, lots of tvs, great food, cheap drinks and a large shady patio. What else can you ask for? I mostly stick to dinner time and before as this place can get pretty crazy on weekend nights with their various promotions but it is fun all the time. Great place for bar food and Sunday Funday.

For those of you whining and complaining about the "divey" or "college crowd" problems with this bar: you're in Fort Collins a few blocks from a large state university. DUH! DUH! DUH! Come on, what were you expecting? It's a large, cheap bar in a college town, not the Martini Bar in LoDo. Geez! Cheap drinks, decent bar food, friendly staff, and a college vibe I used to love 7 days a week, but then graduated and only want on those random occasions I go to "play college" with the old buddies from back in the day. Yeah, we all grow up/grew up, but the bar isn't going to grow up with you. Seriously, quit complaining about the crowd, the drinks, and the vibe, because you're retarded if you came here expecting anything else.

This place is crazy! You can sit in a mini trolley, or peruse all the crazy stuff on the walls. It seems more like a college kid get drunk place, but not bad for bar hopping during the day for us older peeps. Lot's of games, floors, and rooms to hang out in.

This place is a study in contradictions. Went in with some pals after work and sat in the bar area. Manager introduced himself ( a plus) but then found out there is no waitress and you have to go order food at one place and drinks at another. Then they call you over the intercom to pick up your food...and if it's loud (like after work crowds tend to be) then your food just gets cold. The sign behind the bar says "sports bar" but they don't have the sports package. ??? On the plus side, the burgers are pretty tasty...Fridays fish and chips are 5.99. Overall...meh.

In the eight years I have lived in the Fort, I've been to Wash Bar maybe twice. Probably because the first time there I caught multiple people just urinating in the corner of the stairwell, but when the place is that classy, hey why not. Oh did I mention there's a streetcar inside? That's just wacky! :)

I guess I have more of an appreciation of this place for it's history (the building, it's founding, ownership history, and the movie props that go back to when it was part of the Grand American Fare restaurants). Washington's is uniquely part of Fort Collins and a fascinating place to visit, grab a burger, shoot a game of pool, and explore. There's a big college nightlife scene at Washington's as well (dancing and drinking). It's an order at the counter and wait for you name to get called out place with several bars throughout. It's decorated with old movie props throughout and is a great place to take kids during the day. Parking is easy; right across from the La Porte garage. Everybody has to check it out at least once (I've been there dozens of times over the years myself). Again, it was started as part of the Grand American Fare restaurants. History on Grand American Fare is hard to come by. I believe there were 20 or so restaurants and I've been to several of them, including Meadow Muffins in Colorado Springs and Madison Bear Garden in Chico, California (all under individual ownership now I believe). It comes off first as a typical college hangout with some odd/eclectic decoration scheme. But as you look deeper and you begin to understand how Washington's fits into the community and the rich history that each of those "decorations" hold, you'll begin to have a much greater appreciation for this little college hangout. Those with an appreciation for history will understand when they visit (ask if the owner/manager can point out a few significant props that are pieces of history themselves). See if you can figure out what the building used to function as based on its proximity to the tracks and the unique equipment that was left behind. See if you can spot the architectural significance in the basement rock work and the add-ons to the original structure. Ask yourself how difficult and expensive it must be to clean and maintain all those "decorations" (museum pieces really) and you'll begin to understand the true love and care that must go into this little college hang-out. Those that are just looking to jump in and grab a burger and beer should be happy too.

Professor Hawking...I believe we have found where all those black holes lead to. Pretty interesting place. Can't say much about the drinks, I just had a few. This place has three floors though so you can drink, dance and play....like probably pool or something. The real reason why this place warrants a drop in at least, is the decor. This place has everything hanging off of its walls and ceilings. Definitely worth a look.

Great place. Really unique atmosphere you cant find anywhere else in Fort Collins. Food is great (wings are the best Ive had in Colorado) and the service was good too.

For as long as I can remember, The Husband has been telling me about his lunches at the Wash Bar. After years of working in Old Town, he's my go-to for downtown dining news and I hold his opinion pretty high (and not because he's my husband). When Andrea mentioned how she wanted to go out for a burger review, I knew we had to go to Washington's so I could finally have this infamous "Jiffy Burger" that The Husband raves about. To be honest, I've always been sketched out by the Wash Bar. It has a reputation around town due to a few bar fights, and on my Old Town bar crawls, I make sure to skip Washington's just to steer clear of any mess (I guess you can take that more than one way). However, this bar and grill has a split personality. It might be trashy at night (they just had Antoine Dodson host a back to school party - funny video, but come on), however, it's pretty interesting during the day. It's a totally unique and odd place for lunch, interesting garb on the walls, stage props and antiques dangling from the ceiling. I could stand there for hours mesmerized by all of the stuff that looks like it was recovered from a recent Picker's episode. It really is quite amazing, especially the stained glass window behind the bar. For bar food, Washington's does a mighty fine job. It's actually a decent burger for a bar. And the longer I sat in there, the more I liked it.

I hate pretty much everything about Washington's. TRASHY crowd, trashy atmosphere. It's the worst house party ever, except you have to pay a cover and there's no keg. I've even seen them serve jungle juice out of sports coolers. Ugh. Also, my BFF once got a huge glass of WATER from the bar, and the bouncer wouldn't let her leave that area of the bar before she finished it. WATER. There's absolutely no reason to go here with so many other options in Fort Collins.

Last Thursday night, our cabbie suggested this place for a night on the town. It was college night, and my friend is 23. So, I was taking one for the team and playing wing woman. Even though I'm closer in age to cougar-ville, I liked this place. 3 levels had everything from pool tables, to coat check (important in FC), outdoor patio, sports TVs, and dancing on the lower level. It was packed and yet had an easygoing crowd. A few line dances, $2 and $3 drink specials, and a fun atmosphere all added to our night of entertainment. However, there were definitely more men here than women... a plus for me, a minus for my friend.

Wednesday after 4pm they have half-price chicken wings, which are decent. The other food is hit and miss, but usually okay bar food. Other than that, I don't have much to say about the place. I do not recommend anyone over the age of 25 go there on a weekend night. Urination in inappropriate places seems to be a common theme for that place...

3.5 stars. Their hamburgers are pretty good and they have a interesting atmosphere. Somehow despite all of this I am not a regular here. Needless to say I always enjoy my trips here when I do go.

Come here for one reason and one reason only - Thursday nights from 9 -11 = 25 cent drinks. At least when I was in the area this past holiday season. The crowd is eh... The scene itself isn't the classiest, but after a dollar you won't care.

Happened to be in Ft Collins and had a coupon. Never heard of Washington's before, no preconceived notions. Went there for lunch. Sparse crowd. Awesome, eclectic atmosphere. Ate in the cable car which was pretty cool. Really good burger and good service even though you have to pick up the food yourself.

When I was in college my friends would go to this place weekly. Now, several of them have come back to town and wanted to go there again. I reluctantly agree to go again. Every single one of them says something like this, "was Wash Bard like this when we were in school, because it's like something has changed." My response is always the same. Nothing has changed, except we got older and grew taste.

Washington's is one of the best restaurant's and bars in Fort Collins, CO. We vacation every year and make it a point to stop by for burgers and wings. The atmosphere and antiques are awesome. Anybody in the area should stop by and see the bar and great staff!!!!!

We went for trivia night on Tuesday, and it was really fun! The staff were sweet and gave me a free shot for my birthday, and the atmosphere is really fun. I love that I could HEAR my friends and SEE them (ie: the music is a reasonable decibel, and the lighting isn't too dim). It was a fun evening, but I've been to better trivia nights, so I probably won't go back on a Tuesday.

I'm a big fan of this place. I noticed that they only had two (albeit, good) reviews so wanted to toss in my 2 cents.. they have food and drink specials every night - last night I went for the wings (and btw they serve the "full" wing here which is awesome) and they were fantastic. Drink specials = dirt cheap drinks. Service is pretty important to me and the bartenders here do a very good job. Extra points for being able to grab your late night grub directly from the open kitchen counter the second it is ready.

ft collins is a college town. being that it is the middle of summer wash's wasn't as filled as i expected - plus we went on a tuesday for trivia. everyone there was super nice and accomdating. although we came in last place for trivia, we still won a free corona tshirt. the food is your basic bar food - greasy and bad for you, but it sure does pair well with that pitcher of beer! the walls are littered with random posters and license plates. the game room is upstairs and a patio for smokers. with its quirky charm, i can definitely see how wash's is local's favorite.

This place is awesome! First of all walking in you can't help but be in awe with all the props and awesome decoration. Food is great and cheap! Drink specials are always awesome, and the staff is super friendly and helpful! They have a huge beer selection, (esspecially local beer) and really fun weekend events. If you are from out of town or a local this is definitely a place to check out.

For college kids, I can see why this place is appealing, but as a working professional and father I'm really scratching my head as to why I would ever come here. I've been to almost every eating establishment in Ft. Collins (which is an accomplishment by itself) and now as I am trying to see evaluate this place I have to think critically about what demographic would really enjoy this place and those that wouldn't. If you're 29 and under, I think you'll find this place is pretty interesting! There's random junk everywhere in this place which might really help distract you from some insipid conversation that might be numbing your ears while you try to enjoy your drink. For those of you in your 30's and older, I think you'll find this place a bit obnoxious and horrifically cluttered. I think that when they decided to decorate this place, they were definitely drinking on the job. I personally love to drink, but when the evidence of those inebriated decisions have to hang from the ceilings for the duration of your business plan, then I think it's time to put the bottle down. I've eaten here 3 times so far in the last year (interpret that in any way you want) and I'll say that I've had good food and no food. The issue is only when you order something and they bring out something other than what you order, which is what I call "no food". I've enjoyed the food when they get it right, but I can't enjoy something when they completely get it wrong. For this reason, I'll say that you're about 50/50 on the food here. That's not encouraging, but if you're a college student who cares, right?! I wouldn't have anyone not come here. Just know that when you do, come at your own risk. It could be....interesting.

Ordered a burger at 11:47, it's now 12:26 and nothing. We are the only people who ordered. Jeez. We are go here mid day on a Saturday and despite a friendly bartender, the surly cook took a really long time to get my wife her undercooked burger. The food here is supposed to be average bar food for college kids. I get it. But they don't vault even that low bar. If you've never been here, it's worth a drink to see the incredible interior chock full of western antiquities hanging from the rafters. But stop for a drink , not food!

We went there on a Friday night it was pretty dead. The ribs we're rubbery, but the drinks, and atmosphere made up for it. Go for the drinks not the ribs.
